Resumen de Homossexualidades em mídias digitais: interseções entre gender e genre

Studies on digital media as spaces where dissident desires are socialized have been conducted as important instruments in terms of understanding possible modes of gay male subjectivities in virtual environments, especially when such subjectivities are textualized. When it comes to gay men, which is the case, building a sense for gender issues involves some other intricacies, and it requires an analysis on how masculinities and femininities, for example, have been being approached by these speaking subjects. Therefore, we aim to discuss briefly about normativeness, gender (as well as genre), and performativities in gay dating apps and websites, taking ManHunt, Grindr and Hornet profiles as our samples. This paper is based on our previous research (ALMEIDA, 2016 and ALENCAR, 2017), also on theoretical contributions by gender and sexuality scholars, as Halperin (2012) and Butler (1990, 1992), along with Charaudeau (1996, 2004, 2000) with regard to Discourse Analysis. In this way, we should be able to understand how the ideas of normativity, heteronormativity, gender, and culture can be articulated in our analyzed-subject’s speakings, and the relation they have with the hegemonic culture in a context marked by the communicational situations of the genre in which they perform. Besides, we aim to gather some reflections about gay male representations in a historic perspective, from the pre-Stonewall era to the contemporaneity. Finally, it will be possible to approach some aspects which have not been deeply discussed yet, and also to promote and encourage further observations on the relations between genre and gender.

O estudo de mídias digitais enquanto espaços para a socialização de desejos dissidentes tem-nos servido como importante instrumento para compreendermos modos de operação das subjetividades gays em ambientes virtuais, sobretudo quando essas subjetividades se encontram textualizadas. A formulação de sentidos para questões de gênero, quando se trata de homens gays, perpassa outros meandros e requer análises de como as masculinidades e as feminilidades, por exemplo, têm sido tratadas por esses sujeitos de fala. Portanto, objetivamos, neste trabalho, realizar uma breve discussão teórica sobre normatividades, gêneros (tanto sociais como discursivos) e performatividades em aplicativos e sites de encontros gays, valendo-nos de exemplos retirados do ManHunt, Grindr e Hornet. Essa discussão estará embasada em nossas pesquisas prévias (ALMEIDA, 2016 e ALENCAR, 2017), assim como em aportes teóricos de estudiosos de gênero e sexualidade, como Halperin (2012) e, Butler (1990,1993), e também de Charaudeau (1996, 2004, 2010) no que diz respeito à análise do discurso. Dessa forma, poderemos entender como as noções de norma, heteronormatividade, gênero e cultura podem estar articuladas nas falas de nossos sujeitos-objeto e a relação que travam com a cultura hegemônica em um contexto marcado pelas situações de comunicação do gênero discursivo em que se performatizam. Além disso, buscamos reunir algumas reflexões sobre as representações gays em uma perspectiva histórica, passando da era pré-Stonewall até a contemporaneidade. Por fim, será possível traçar alguns pontos talvez ainda poucos discutidos e, ainda, promover e incentivar uma reflexão sobre as relações entre os gêneros discursivos e os gêneros sociais.
