Resumen de Condenados à morte natural: o rito processual contra os escravos Leopoldo e Rodolpho em 1828/1829

  This article talks about the procedural rite in which two captive workers were in, Leopold e Rudolph, these two individuals admitted to be the ones responsible for murdering the Forman at Pederneira farm. The crime was committed as a form of revenge in a place used for cattle breeding in the city of Rio Pardo, one of the largest slavery center inside the Province of Rio Grande de São Pedro do Sul. The empirical base is formed by two processes: the crime and the active law effective at that time. The two captives were tried in 1829 by the Portuguese Law which was still effective then. Both of them were convicted by the justice board to march on the public streets of Porto Alegre with tether and trading and they were victims of natural death while they were hanging on the gallows

  Este artigo trata do rito processual pelo qual passaram dois trabalhadores cativos, Leopoldo e Rodolpho, autores confessos do assassinato do capataz da Fazenda Pederneira. O crime foi praticado como forma de vingança em um estabelecimento de criação de gado no município de Rio Pardo, um dos grandes centros escravistas da Província do Rio Grande de São Pedro do Sul. A base empírica é composta de dois processos crime e da legislação do período. Julgados em 1829 pela legislação portuguesa ainda em vigor, os dois cativos foram condenados pela Junta de Justiça a desfilar pelas ruas públicas de Porto Alegre com baraço e pregão e sofreram morte natural para sempre na forca.
