Resumen de Carlos Santos e a comissão em homenagem ao negro no Biênio da Colonização e Imigração no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul em 1974

This work aims to contribute to the black political leadership , as well as to demonstrate the participation of its representatives in allusion the biennium of colonization and immigration in Rio Grande do Sul. Official activity that recognized the importance of black identity in the cultural formation of this territory. On occasion, the black congressman Carlos Santos was invited to join the organization committee in the activities. Through the annals of the Legislative Assembly and the relevant literature, we intend to examine their participation. Concluding that the activity allowed the official recognition of the black community as well as policy trajectory in Carlos Santos in the history of the State of Rio Grande do Sul.

Este trabalho visa contribuir para o protagonismo político negro, bem como para demonstrar a participação de seus representantes nas atividades alusivas ao biênio da colonização e imigração no Rio Grande do Sul. Estado que, mesmo com as efusivas manifestações europeias, por intermédio dos seus parlamentares, reconheceu a importância dos afrodescendentes na formação cultural deste território. Na ocasião, o deputado negro Carlos Santos foi convidado para integrar a comissão do negro nas atividades. Por meio dos anais da Assembleia Legislativa e de bibliografia pertinente, pretende-se problematizar nuances destas homenagens.Concluindo que a atividade possibilitou o reconhecimento oficial da identidade negra e da trajetória política de Carlos Santos na história sul-rio-grandense.
