  Este artigo discorre sobre a inclusão de homossexuais no Protestantismo. Assumindo que a construção dos gêneros e das práticas sexuais é uma construção social, este trabalho procura mostrar o papel da religião na socialização e legitimação dos homossexuais à vida religiosa, especificamente na fração cristã do Protestantismo. Considerando que o Protestantismo tem sido o segmento da religião cristã que mais tem promovido modificações em suas crenças e padrões de comportamento, e sendo uma dessas modificações a inclusão de homossexuais em suas igrejas desde meados do século XX, discorre-se sobre a inclusão de homossexuais em igrejas Protestantes nas quais os homoafetivos não são coagidos a converterem-se à heterossexualidade; antes, tornam-se parte da comunidade de fé e passam a exercer os seus direitos e deveres religiosos.

  This article discusses the inclusion of homosexuals in Protestantism. Assuming that the construction of gender and sexual practices is a social construction, this paper aims to show the role of religion in socialization and legitimization of homosexual religious life, specifically in the Christian fraction of Protestantism. Whereas that Protestantism has been the segment of the Christian religion that has most promoted changes in their beliefs and behaviorpatterns, and one of those changes being the inclusion of homosexuals in their churches since the mid-twentieth century, this article explains about the inclusion of homosexuals in the Protestant churches in which homosexual are not coerced to convert to heterosexuality, but rather becomes part of the community of faith and goes through to exercise their rights and religious duties.
