Resumen de Miscigenação e Biopolítica no Brasil

O artigo analisa, a partir do uso de algumas ferramentas foucaultianas, como os conceitos de governamentalidade e biopolítica, as significações e ressignificações da miscigenação na história brasileira. Toma como campo de análise três contextos em que a miscigenação foi alvo de profícuas discussões, nomeadamente no que se refere às problemáticas relacionadas à “identidade nacional”: as primeiras décadas do século XX, período de efervescência da eugenia, o período varguista, sobretudo o Estado Novo, quando a democracia racial fez da miscigenação uma estratégia identitária, e o contexto dos movimentos antirracistas diferencialistas, a partir dos anos 1980, quando o Movimento Negro ressignificou a ideia de raça e com ela a de miscigenação. A análise desses contextos permite entender como foram construídos diferentes “regimes de verdade” sobre a população e sobre a “identidade” nacional, e como essas “verdades” orientaram o governamento do corpo espécie da população em três momentos da história brasileira.

This article analyses, from the useof some foucauldian tools, such as the concepts of governmentality and biopolitics, the meanings and new meanings of miscegenation in the Brazilian history. As study filed, there are three contexts in which the miscegenation was target of fruitful debates, regarding the issues involving the “national identity”: the first decades of the twentieth century, the period of effervescence of eugenics, Getúlio Vargas’s period, especially the Estado Novo, when the racial democracy made the miscegenation an identitystrategy, and the context of differentialist anti-racist movements, from 1980, when the Black Movemen redefined the idea of race and miscegenation. The analysis of these contexts helps to understand how the “regimes of truth” about the population and the“identity” were constructed, and how these “truths” guided the governing of the body-species of the population in moments of the Brazilian history
