    Este artigo discute as relações entre História e Memória, tomando como objeto as entrevistas concedidas por Luiz Carlos Prestes, antigo secretário-geral do Partido Comunista Brasileiro (PCB), sobre a Insurreição de novembro de 1935. A partir deste escopo, confrontam-se os testemunhos do dirigente acerca do levante com outros indícios históricos, evidenciados por Pinheiro (1992), Vianna (2007) e Waack (1993). Finalmente, à luz das reflexões esboçadas por Pollak (1989), Rousso (1998) e Burke (2000) analisam-se as implicações dos depoimentos de Prestes sobre a “Revolta Vermelha” para a memória comunista e a historiografia brasileira.

    This paperdiscussesthe relationships between History and Memory, taking as object the interview conceded byLuiz Carlos Prestes, old secretary-general of the Brazilian Communist Party (BCP), about therevolt in November 1935. From this scope, we face the testimonies of the officer about the uprising with other historical vestiges, evidenced by Pinheiro(1992), Vianna(2007) and Waack(1993). Finally, from thereflections outlined by Pollak(1989), Rousso(1998) and Burke(2000) we analyze the implications of the statements by Prestes about the “Red Revolt” for the communist memory and the Brazilian historiography.
