Resumen de Problemas, limites e possibilidades: os desafios do paradigma biográfico

Questioned during centuries by intellectuals of the human sciences, it seems to the biography to occupy again a place of distinction in the writing of the history (and, on the whole, scientific). The biographical type conquered a new landing of understanding of the "complexity" of thereality owing to the means opened by the “cultural history” that was turned, more and more, for an interpretative approach of individuals and particular groups situated in places and periods well circumscribed in the history, fact that allowed new discussions about the paper of the subjects, of the narrative, of ‘case studies ’, of the daily life etc. Our work intends to present a short trajectory of the discussion around the biography and some challenges put to this type

Questionada durante séculos por intelectuais das ciências humanas, a biografia parece ocupar novamente um lugar de destaque na escrita da história (e, de modo geral, cientifica). O gênero biográfico conquistou um novo patamar de compreensão da “complexidade” do real em virtude das possibilidades abertas pela “história cultural” que se voltou, cada vez mais, para uma abordagem interpretativa de indivíduos e grupos particulares, situados em locais e períodos bem circunscritos na história, fato que permitiu novos debates acerca do papel dos sujeitos, da narrativa, dos ‘case studies’, do cotidiano etc. Nosso trabalho pretende apresentar uma breve trajetória da discussão em torno da biografia e alguns desafios colocados a este gênero.
