    Se reflexiona mucho sobre la pandemia en sí misma, pero no es menos importante tomar en serio las preguntas que nos pone frente a nuestro modo de vivir y a nuestras perspectivas de futuro. En particular, la Iglesia debería sentirse interpelada por este acontecimiento transcendental, que le está haciendo tomar conciencia de la necesidad de un cambio en su relación con el mundo y con la historia. Por tanto, la verdadera cuestión que la pandemia pone en reflexión creyente no mira tanto a la problemática clásica de la teodicea, sino más bien al profetismo y a la vitalidad de la misión evangelizadora de la Iglesia.

    Much thought has been given to the pandemic per se, but it is no less important to take give serious consideration to the questions it poses with respect to our way of life and our prospects for the future. In particular, the Church should feel challenged by this momentous event, which is raising her awareness of the need to change her relationship with the world and with history. The real question that the pandemic raises for believers, therefore, does not focus so much the classic problem of theodicy, but rather on the prophetic stance and the vitality of the evangelizing mission of the Church.
