    En el atardecer del siglo xv tres conocidos poetas valencianos, Bernat Fenollar, Narcís Vinyoles y Francí de Castellví compusieron el poema Scachs d´amor. Se trata ni más ni menos que del texto que inaugura la edad moderna del ajedrez, con la nueva y poderosa dama reinando en el tablero, como emblema de esa revolución normativa. Una sola generación, luminosa y genial, de humanistas y ajedrecistas valencianos, fue capaz de clausurar por sí misma el ajedrez medieval. Innovación y vigencia. Poesía y verdad.

    In the late 15th centuy, three well-know Valencian poets, Bernat Fenollar, Narcís Vinyoles and Francí de Castellví composed the poem Scachs d´amor. It is nothing less than the text that inaugurates the Modern Age of Chess, with the new and powerful Queen reigning on the board, as the emblem of that normative revolution. A single generation, bright and brilliant, of Valencian humanists and chess players, put an end to the Era of Medieval Chess by itself. Innovation and validity. Poetry and truth.
