Resumen de O papel do Instituto Histórico na construção de memórias sobre a Baixada Fluminense (1971-1985)

  A proposta deste trabalho é apresentar como o Instituto Histórico da Câmara de Duque de Caxias (RJ), fundado em 1971, foi útil para edificar uma memória de “progresso” para o município, durante o período em que a cidade foi enquadrada como “área interesse de segurança nacional”. As ações do legislativo e do fortalecimento de imagens, com símbolos e comemorações no espaço, favoreceram a participação e o diálogo com regime político. O lugar de memória é aqui considerado no sentido proposto por Pierre Nora, que a memória não se constrói livremente, mas é alimentada por arquivos, aniversários e celebrações. A seleção de fontes incluiu os periódicos locais, como: o jornal Municipal e a Luta Democrática, bem como a produção realizada por Dalva Lazaroni, no período de gestão do Instituto Histórico, com o livro Esboço Histórico Geográfico do Município de Duque de Caxias (1978). A partir da análise das ações realizadas pelo espaço e a produção da diretora, foram encontrados indicativos do reconhecimento do lugar de poder e prestígio do instituto, e a aplicabilidade de projetos historiográficos na consolidação de projetos políticos, potencializando o lugar de produção como parte do processo de construção do território.

  The purpose of this work is to present how the Historical Institute of the Chamber of Duque de Caxias (RJ), founded in 1971, was useful to build a memory of “progress” for the municipality, during the period when the city was framed as an area of national security. The actions of the legislature and the strengthening of images, with symbols and celebrations in the space, favored participation and dialogue with the political regime. The place of memory is considered here in the sense proposed by Pierre Nora, that memory is not lost, but is fed by archives, birthdays and celebrations. The selection of sources included local periodicals, such as: Municipal newspaper and Luta Democrática, as well as a production by Dalva Lazaroni, during the period of management of the historic institute, with the book Geographical Sketch of the Municipality of Duque de Caxias (1978). From the analysis of the actions taken by the space and the production of the director, indications were found of the recognition of the place of power and prestige of the institute, and the applicability of historiographic projects in the consolidation of political projects, enhancing the place of production as part of the process of construction of the territory.
