    Para aspirar a un futuro mejor, hay que tomar como punto de partida el Mediterráneo. ¿La paz llegará del Sur? Es indispensable un nuevo proyecto común sobre el Mediterráneo, partiendo de sus civilizaciones y del diálogo con las otras. Se impone una síntesis nueva, que armonice Oriente y Occidente, Sur y Norte. El futuro está en manos del hombre pluriétnico del Mediterráneo, mar que nos indica que hay que volver al hombre y que sin la lección del Sur se pierden los límites de la realidad.

    In order to hope for a better future, we must start from the Mediterranean. Will peace come from the South? A new common project about the Mediterranean, based on a dialogue between different civilizations, is indispensable. A new synthesis is needed: a synthesis which harmonizes the West and the East, the South and the North. The future belongs to a multi-ethnic man of the Mediterranean. If we forget the history of the South we lose the limits of reality.
