    Entre los innumerables parajes que la exploradora francesa Alexandra David-Néel cruzó, Túnez fue su lugar de residencia entre 1900 y 1911, de ahí nació en 1907 el bonito cuento «Devant la face d’Allah», testigo por un lado de la belleza de los paisajes saharianos, por otro lado de la historia de aquellas tierras africanas colonizadas, pero sobre todo de la increíble audacia de una mujer nacida a finales del siglo XIX quien habla libremente de su visión de las religiones. Además, este relato que cuenta las aventuras de dos jóvenes parisinos cuyo destino los lleva hasta el Sahara, representa de algún modo, las heridas y las vivencias ocultas de la autora Alexandra David-Néel.

    Among the numerous parts of the country that the French explorer, Alexandra David-Néel crossed, Tunis was her place of residence between 1900 and 1911. In 1907 she wrote this attractive tale that on the one hand, bears witness to the beauty of an enchanting landscape, and on the other hand tells the story of these colonized African lands. Of special note is the incredible boldness of a woman, born at the end of the 19th century, speaking freely about the Muslim religion. Finally, through this short story of two Parisian children, continuing to the Sahara and dying in the arms of Allah, are the echoes of the wounds and real-life experience of the famous writer Alexandra David Néel.
