The article is based on the analysis of a diachronic corpus covering eighteen years in the field of pandemic respiratory infections. It aims to describe the evolution of the use of specialised acronyms and abbrevations in French and in the writings of experts. The analysis of the corpus shows great variability in the use of these terminological units and also gives valuable information on the different types of terminological variation that occur over the years.
Cette étude s’appuie sur l’analyse d’un corpus en français couvrant dix-huit années dans le domaine des infections respiratoires pandémiques. Elle décrit l’évolution de l’usage que font les experts, dans leurs écrits, des acronymes et des sigles utilisés dans cette spécialité. Plusieurs points sont abordés, notamment la grande variabilité qui caractérise ce type d’unité terminologique ainsi que les différents phénomènes de variation diachronique observés, à leur sujet, dans le corpus.
