  Con eldesarrollo frutícola que viene alcanzando el municipio de Ciego de Ávilade la provinciadel mismo nombre, esnecesario estudiarla fauna de tefritidos presente en este territorio, como base para su manejo eficiente,lo que propiciódeterminar las especies y el comportamiento poblacional de las moscasfruteras asociadas a los frutales en esta zona.Para este estudio se tuvieron en cuenta los resultados alcanzados en la captura de adultos, a partir de la observación de lared de trampas instaladaspara este finy los muestreos de frutos de plantas hospedantes, aprovechando la organización de la Vigilancia Fitosanitaria por Cuadrantes Cartográficos aplicada por el Centro Nacional de Sanidad Vegetal. Como resultado seobtuvoque las especies Anastrepha suspensaLoew y Anastrepha obliquaMacquart,son las que predominan en esta área. A. suspensaes la especie preponderanteen las capturasde adultosen trampasy larvas en muestreo de fruto,siendola guayaba el hospedantepreferido de ambas especies de moscas frutera.

  With the fruit development that the municipality of Ciego de Ávila in the province of the same name has been reaching, it is necessary to study the fauna of tefritidos present in this territory, as a basis for their efficient management, which led to determine the species and population behavior of fruit flies associated with fruit trees in this area. For this study, the results achieved in the capture of adults were taken into account, from the observation of the network of traps installed for this purpose and the sampling of fruits of host plants, taking advantage of the organization of the Phytosanitary Surveillance by Cartographic Quadrants applied by the National Center for Plant Health. As a result, it was obtained that the species Anastrepha suspensa Loew and Anastrepha obliqua Macquart are the ones that predominate in this area. A. suspensa is the predominant species in the captures of adults in traps and larvae in fruit sampling, with guava being the preferred host for both species of fruit flies.
