La Potenciación del pensamiento crítico en la educación y la sociedad para enfrentar los tiempos pandémicos

    En este artículo se discurre acerca de la necesidad de potenciar el pensamiento crítico en la educación, lo cual podría contribuir a enfrentar mejor los tiempos de incertidumbre como los producidos por la pandemia de Covid-19. A pesar de que las indicaciones oficiales de la educación señalan el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico, tal desarrollo no se ha hecho realidad en las prácticas educativas cotidianas, en parte por falta de directrices claras acerca de cómo realizar dicha tarea y en parte por las ambigüedades que entraña el tratamiento del pensamiento crítico. La educación oficial ha enfrentado diversas problemáticas logísticas, metodológicas e ideológicas. Además, durante este tiempo de pandemia, la sociedad ha visto cómo las escuelas fueron cerradas para evitar o prevenir los contagios, ello condujo a intentar seguir la educación por los medios electrónicos disponibles para docentes y estudiantes, lo cual supuso, entre otras cosas, un distanciamiento y la exclusión de algunos, sobre todo de aquellos más desfavorecidos. En estos tiempos pandémicos, se toma conciencia de la necesidad de potenciar el pensamiento crítico, el cual pretende contribuir a la toma de decisiones respecto qué hacer o creer.

    This article discusses the need to promote critical thinking in education, which could help to better face uncertain times such as those produced by the Covid-19 pandemic. Although the official indications of education indicate the development of critical thinking, such development has not become a reality in everyday educational practices, partly due to a lack of clear guidelines on how to carry out this task and partly due to the ambiguities that it involves the treatment of critical thinking. Official education has faced various logistical, methodological, and ideological problems. In addition, during this time of the pandemic, society has seen how schools were closed to avoid or prevent infections, which led to trying to continue education through the electronic means available to teachers and students, which meant, among other things, a distancing and exclusion of some, especially those most disadvantaged. In these pandemic times, there is awareness of the need to promote critical thinking, which aims to contribute to making decisions about what to do or believe. Such empowerment would be possible if philosophy were included in those educational levels where it is still absent.
