En este artículo se analizan las dos etapas del Jardín de Lastanosa: el Jardín Renacentista y el Jardín Barroco. Se presta atención a la morfología de los distintos jardines, al programa iconográfico de las esculturas y de las pinturas murales, que configuraban un verdadero museo al aire libre, así como a las distintas colecciones integradas en el jardín: la colección vegetal, la colección mineral y los animales exóticos, elementos todos ellos que no podían faltar en uno de los grandes jardines europeos del siglo XVII.
This article analyzes the two stages of the Lastanosa Garden: the Renaissance Garden and the Baroque Garden. Attention is paid to the morphology of the various gardens, the iconographic program of the sculptures and wall paintings, that formed a true open-air museum, as well as the different collections integrated into the garden: the vegetable collection, the mineral collection and exotic animals, elements all of them that could not be missing in one of the great European gardens of the seventeenth century.
