    El presente estudio busca investigar el valor histórico que le atribuyen al archivo popular los y las pobladoras del cerro Rodelillo de la ciudad de Valparaíso. Para esto se aplica la metodología cualitativa interpretativa, con la intención de comprender la realidad desde sus aspectos particulares, procesos históricos y perspectivas que tienen sus protagonistas. Se emplean dos tipos de técnicas de recolección de datos:

    entrevista en profundidad semi estructurada y Grupo Focal, ambas, aplicadas a vecinos y vecinas del sector de Rodelillo. Los resultados obtenidos dan cuenta de la importancia que le atribuyen las personas a resguardar, conservar y tratar de transmitir a las nuevas generaciones la identidad del cerro y por otro lado el valor que le dan a la memoria histórica local, reflejada en la alta participación y buena relación comunitaria que se produce en la década de los sesenta, pero que va desgastándose a medida que van pasando los años y el sistema neoliberal va instalándose en la vida de las personas.

    : This study seek to investigate the importance attributed to the community archive by the residents of Rodelillo, on one hand is to protect;

    preserve and trying to transmitt the new generations the identity of that place and on the other hand, the value that they give to the local historical memory. For this, the qualitative interpretive methodology is going to be apply since it seeks to understand the reality from their particular aspects, historical process and the perspective that its protagonist have. Two types of interview going to be use, semi-structured and Focus group, applied to residents of the Rodelillo sector. The results shown a high participation and good community relationship in its beginnings but it wear out with the passage of time, effort, community work and the participation mark a comparison of what has seen now to what it was before. As well, the importance that they give to their local memory and to the community archive, as well the emotion that they produce when they see themselves in their memories. On the other hand, memory to try to reconstruct or rescue aspect of the past and different periods that were shaping what is now Rodelillo.
