    Se denomina fractura de Colles a la fractura del extremo distal del radio que se sitúa unos 2’5 cm por encima de la articulación de la muñeca.

    El tratamiento de este tipo de fracturas va a depender siempre del tipo de fractura que nos encontremos.

    Aquí nos vamos a centrar en aquellas en las que se puede optar por un tratamiento conservador y en la importancia que tiene que el paciente comprenda bien aquellas actuaciones que debe realizar para evitar las complicaciones no poco frecuentes derivadas de la fractura, reducción e inmovilización de la extremidad afectada.

    Colles’ fracture is a fracture of the distal end of the radius that is located about 2.5 cm above the wrist joint.

    The treatment of this type of fracture will always depend on the type of fracture that we find.

    Here we are going to focus on those in which a conservative treatment can be chosen and on the importance of the patient having a good understanding of the actions to be taken to avoid the not infrequent complications derived from fracture, reduction and immobilization of the limb affects.
