    In this article, nominal metaphors related to COVID-19 are analyzed, referred to as covitáforas-19 (COVID-19 metaphors).This study is bibliographical,descriptive and analyticalin nature and its approach is qualitative. The objective is to encourage dialogue between those involved in theoretical information involving interaction theory and the metaphorical descriptions of COVID-19. It was found that interlocutors and readers are able to achieve plausible interpretations of COVID-19 metaphors through the identification, selection, and interaction betweenthe properties relevant to both the topic and the vehicle. The studied metaphors were found to provide coherent informationon COVID-19 and to be able to inspire a variety of sensations in both readers andinterlocutors

    Neste artigo as metáforas nominais que fazem alusão à COVID-19 são analisadas, as quais são denominadas covitáforas-19. A partir de um estudo bibliográfico e qualitativo, o objetivo deste estudo foi relacionar a teoria interacionista e as descrições metafóricas da COVID-19. Verificou-se que os ouvintes e os leitores conseguem alcançar interpretações plausíveis às covitáforas-19 através da identificação, da seleção e da interação das propriedades relevantes do tópico e do veículo. As metáforas estudadas transmitem informações coerentes sobre a COVID-19 e são capazes de despertar diversas sensações nos ouvintes e nos leitores.
