La función abstractiva como distintivo básico de la inteligencia humana

    La distinción neta, no solo gradual, sino específica, entre conocimiento sensible y conocimiento intelectual es un tema que ha sido discutido desde antiguo. Por mi parte, sostengo la diferencia específica de tales funciones, excluyendo, sin embargo, el dualismo antropológico substancial de mente-cuerpo.

    Por otro lado, se viene discutiendo también sobre cuál es el carácter radical o distintivo básico de las funciones intelectivas superiores: en este trabajo sostenemos, después de enfrentar varias opiniones, que se encuentra en la capacidad de ejercicio de la abstracción formal, como consecución evolutiva de la mente humana y liberación siquiera parcial de la materia y de la sensibilidad.

    The clear, not only gradual but specific distinction between sensitive knowledge and intellectual knowledge, is a topic that has been discussed since ancient times. For my part, I hold the specific difference of such functions, excluding, however, the substantial anthropological dualism of mindbody.

    On the other hand, the basic radical or distinctive character of higher intellective functions is also being discussed: in this paper we argue, after facing various opinions, that it is found in the ability to exercise formal abstraction, as an evolutionary achievement of the human mind and even partial liberation of matter and sensitivity.
