La región estudiada incluye los lugares con los conflictos más importantes hoy en día. Es una región donde son limítrofes diversas civilizaciones, siguiendo los criterios de Toynbee, y donde siempre ha habido tensión. La aparición del Estado de Israel provocó una enorme conflictividad aún no concluida. Hay presiones externas sobre el mundo árabe, desde Turquía, Rusia, Irán e Israel que han provocado conflictos desde hace un siglo. La pos-Primavera Árabe es otra fuente de conflicto distinta a las anteriores, en la que cristaliza el desgobierno, la falta de derechos humanos, la corrupción y la injusticia. Las cuestiones económicas están bien presentes para desestabilizar como la falta de agua, la bajada de precios del petróleo o la muy injusta distribución de la riqueza. La pandemia ha provocado un escenario terrible cuyas consecuencias desconocemos todavía. Muchos problemas no resueltos a los que se añaden las dificultades internas. Como señaló un Informe del Desarrollo Árabe del PNUD las carencias en educación, libertad y trato a la mujer provocan la falta de desarrollo en esta región; podemos añadir que también provocan la aparición y mantenimiento de los diversos conflictos que hemos mencionado.

The region we overview includes the places with the most important conflicts today. It is a región where several civilizations, according to the criteria of Toynbee, border each other, and where always there has been tension. The foundation of the State of Israel provoked a very big unrest that has not finished yet. There are external pressures over the Arab world, from Turkey, Russia, Iran and Israel that have provoked conflicts since a century ago. The aftermath of the Arab Spring is another source of conflict different from the previous ones, in which crystallizes misrule, lack of human rights, corruption and injustice. The economic questions are well present to destabilize, like the lack of water, the decrease of the oil prices or the very unfair wealth distribution. Pandemic has drawn a terrible stage whose consequences are still unknown. Many unsolved problems that add to the internal difficulties. As was written in an Arab Development Report of the UNDP, the deficiencies in education, freedom and treatment of women provoke the lack of development in this región; we can add that they also provoke the appearance and maintenance of the several conflicts that we have mentioned.
