El artículo presenta la esencia del cristianismo (Dios es amor) en la enseñanza de la fe y en el ministerio pastoral de la Iglesia. Frente a las contribuciones de la Modernidad, el «amor infeliz» de Feuerbach y el «amor intimista y conciliador» de Harnack, la propuesta de Guardini (el «amor desde arriba») mantiene su vigor actual incluso en nuestro tiempo postmoderno, pues la revelación trinitaria trasciende la misma historia y el abismo humano tanto en su forma ideológica como totalitaria.

The article presents the essence of Christianity (God is Love) in the teaching of the faith and in the pastoral ministry of the Church. Faced with the contributions of Modernity, Feuerbach’s «unhappy love» and Harnack’s «intimate and conciliatory love», Guardini’s proposal («love from above») maintains its current vigor even in our postmodern time, since the Trinitarian revelation transcends history itself and the human abyss in both its ideological and totalitarian form.
