Resumen de La fuerza del cariño: Vivencias de la cuidadora principal de un paciente trasplantado hepático

  El trasplante hepático supone el único tratamiento para la patología hepática terminal. Desde el comienzo de la enfermedad hasta el trasplante, la persona ha de atravesar un camino sinuoso y difícil. Habitualmente no está sólo, le acompaña alguien de la familia. Sobre ella recae la responsabilidad y la gran carga que supone el cuidado, es la que padece los problemas y dificultades, y la que sufre las consecuencias, físicas y psíquicas del mismo.

  Nuestra informante, J, asume su rol de mujer-esposa-cuidadora como un hecho preestablecido dentro de los valores del ser humano. Nos narra sus vivencias desde el comienzo de la enfermedad de su marido hasta el postrasplante. Relata, cómo adquiere los conocimientos y las habilidades para ese cuidado informal y que sus fuerzas motivadoras han sido el gran sentimiento de amor y cariño que le une a su marido, su fe religiosa y su actitud positiva ante las situaciones presentadas. En todo momento manifiesta su confianza, agradecimiento y profesionalidad hacia el equipo multidisciplinario.

  Liver transplantation is the only treatment for terminal liver disease. Since the beginning of the disease to the transplant, the patient has gone through a tortuous and difficult path. Usually it is not alone in the process, accompanying someone in the family. On it rests the responsibility and de care, it suffers the problems and difficulties, and the consequences, physically and mentally the process.

  Our informant, J, takes her role of woman-wife-caregiver pre-established as a fact of human values She recounts her experiences since the beginning of the illness of her husband until after transplantation. She relates how acquired knowledge and skills to the informal care and that their motivating forces have been the great feeling of love and affection to her husband, her religious faith, spirituality and positive attitude to the situations presented. At all times she expressed her confidence, appreciation and professionalism of the multidisciplinary team.
