  Expone el presente trabajo la documentación generada en la Diputación de Murcia por las autoridades municipales de Villena o por vecinos de esta población, durante el breve periodo comprendido entre mayo de 1820 y abril de 1822, espacio temporal en el cual la citada ciudad permaneció bajo la administración territorial de dicha provincia. Villena se segregaría en 1822, aprovechando la nueva distribución territorial, integrándose en la de Alicante. El contenido documental trabajado comprende aspectos muy diversos de la vida de esta ciudad y del devenir de sus habitantes en el periodo de esperanzas y convulsiones políticas que representó el Trienio Liberal.

  Documentation provided in the following work has been generated in the Diputación de Murcia by the municipal authorities of Villena or by locals of this town. During the brief period that lasted from May, 1820 to April, 1822, which is the period of time where the city was under the territorial administration of said province. Villena would separate in 1822 using the new territorial distribution and integrated into the Alicante province. The documental content provided in this work explains very different aspects of this city’s life and the daylife of its inhabitants in the period full of hope and political convulsions that was the Trienio Liberal.
