    Uno de las características principales que distingue a una democracia es la participación política de sus ciudadanos. Sinella, los esfuerzos de los gobiernos se verían opacados por la falta de legitimidad y de atención a las necesidades vitales de su población. Por lo anterior, el presente estudio tiene como objetivo identificar los tipos de participación política del Área Metropolitana de Monterrey, Nuevo León, con el fin de contribuir en la generación de estadística que permita medirlos niveles de participación política en Nuevo león, aportando elementos para el análisis, el desarrollo y el interés político de este País. Para cumplir los objetivos del presente artículo se analizaron 1,842 encuestas aplicadas en el Área Metropolitana de Monterrey, tomando en cuenta la participación política directa, indirecta y no convencional de los encuestados. Los resultados reflejan el poco interés en los asuntos políticos por parte de los neoleoneses, que, aunque el presente estudio no contempla las causas, refleja un alto índice de desafección política en ellos.

    A main characteristic that a democracy has is the political participation from citizens. Without it, any effort from government will not be legitime and will not cover the vital necessities of their population. Because of it, the objective of the presentstudy is to identify the different tense of political participation inthe metropolitan area of Monterrey, trying to generate statistics results that allow measure the levels of political participation, makingwith the results the possibility of analysis, development and political interest into the country. In orderto reach the objectives, therewere 1,842 surveys applied in the metropolitan area dividing the informationin three main topics direct, indirect, and non-conventional political participation. The results reflect the lossinterest in the political issues by People from Nuevo León, even if the present study doesn't take into account the main causes, it is perceived a high level of political disaffection among them.
