    El presente artículo tiene como finalidad analizar la generación del principio de no intervención en América Latina a partir de la intervención de Alemania, Italia e Inglaterra a Venezuela en 1902 que propició la aparición de la Doctrina Drago e impulsó un cambio en la política exterior de Estados Unidos para hacerla más agresiva y activa en la región. El análisis está centrado desde la visión teórica de la Doctrina Drago y el corolario Roosevelt como puntos de encuentro para, por un lado generar un principio de no intervención en la región y, por otro, una política de acción más fuerte por parte de Estados Unidos con su política del Gran Garrote.

    The aim of this paper in to analyze the origin of the principle of No Intervention in Latin America based on the aggressions in Venezuela in 1902 led by Germany, Italy, and England that gave rise to the Drago Doctrine and a change in U.S. foreign policy that made it more aggressive and active in the region. The analysis centers on the theoretical vision of the Drago Doctrine and the Roosevelt Corollary as a crucial intersection that generated, on the one hand, a principle of No Intervention in the region but, on the other, a more assertive foreign policy approach by the U.S. that came to be known as the Big Stick.
