La función de publicidad que caracteriza al Registro Civil lo convierte en una institución fundamental dentro del sistema de seguridad jurídica preventiva. De ahí que, sea importante estudiar si existe correspondencia entre el contenido de la publicidad del Registro y las situaciones jurídicas y sociales en que usualmente se desenvuelven las personas, como un medio para garantizar, desde esta perspectiva, su cuidado y desarrollo. En este sentido, se valora el contenido de la publicidad del Registro del Estado Civil cubano (Ley No.51/1985, de 15 de julio del Registro del Estado Civil), a partir de las experiencias españolas en la materia, siguiendo, en general, los avances de este último sistema (Ley 20/2011, de 21 de julio, del Registro Civil), y la necesidad de alcanzar en el ámbito registral cubano mayor protección a la persona y la familia.

The publicity function that characterizes the Civil Registry makes it in a fundamental institution within the preventive legal security system. Hence, it is important to study whether there is a correspondence between the content of the publicity of the Registry and the legal and social situations in which it is usually develop people, as a means to guarantee, from this perspective, its care and development. In this sense, the content of the publicity of the Cuban Civil Status Registry (Law No. 51/1985, of July 15, of the Registry of Civil Status), based on Spanish experiences in the matter, following, in general, the advances of this last system (Law 20/2011, of July 21, of the Registry Civil), and the need to achieve greater protection for the person and family.
