Los Trastornos Generalizados del Desarrollo (TGD) son alteraciones que aparecen en la infancia y que inciden principalmente a nivel de la socialización y de la comunicación. Si bien es cierto que los tratamientos se basan sobre todo en que estos niños aprendan y respeten ciertas normas y reglas de la sociedad, también debemos saber respetar su estilo individual. No hay que luchar para que encajen en nuestra forma de pensar o sentir, viven su vida de forma diferente y hay que darles la oportunidad para que aprendan de nosotros al igual que debemos intentar comprenderlos y aprender de ellos. Esto es lo que nos transmite la madre protagonista de este relato y como con su tenacidad, su lucha y el apoyo de su pareja ha sido capaz de conseguir que su hija con TGD esté integrada socialmente.

Pervasive Development Disorders (PDD) are alterations that appear during childhood and that affect mainly sociability and communication levels. Although it is true to say that treatments are based on the fact that children should learn and respect basic society rules, we also have to know how to respect each individual style. We don´t have to struggle to make them fit in our way of thinking or feeling as they live their lives in a different way and we have to give them an opportunity to learn from us as well as we have to try to understand them and learn from them. This is what this protagonist mother wants to tell us from her story, how her tenacity, her fight and the support of her partner have been able to make her succeed in integrating socially her daughter with PDD.
