De vuelta a casa: el retorno de los jóvenes españoles desde Europa

    El contexto de crisis económica y el marco de libre circulación en la Unión Europea han estimulado una significativa salida de jóvenes españoles hacia Europa. La novedad de volver a ser país de emigración, tras el boom inmigratorio vivido, y el recuerdo de tiempos pasados, han puesto el énfasis en la importancia de esta movilidad de jóvenes españoles y en la pérdida de talento que conlleva. En cambio, se ha prestado menos atención a la ganancia de capital humano que puede entrañar que retornen, lo cual dependerá de quién retorne y de las posibilidades que tenga de utilizar lo aprendido. El artículo analiza los factores que afectan en la decisión de retornar o quedarse, y la influencia que tienen en qué tipos de emigrantes regresan y su posterior desempeño en España. Se sustentará en 80 entrevistas a jóvenes españoles retornados de Alemania, Reino Unido o Italia, realizadas en 2015 en el marco del proyecto XXXX.

    The context of economic crisis and the framework of free movement inside the EU have stimulated a significant outflow of young Spanish to Europe. The newness of being an emigration country again, after the immigration boom, and the memory of times past, have emphasized the importance of this Spanish Youth mobility and the waste of talent that it represents. However, less attention has been paid to the human capital that emigration could bring back depending on who returns and what possibilities they have of implementing what they have learned abroad. This paper focuses on the factors that determine the decision to return, stay or circulate and their influence on the kind of migrants that return and how will be their further professional development in Spain. It will be based on 80 interviews with young Spanish returnees from Germany, United Kingdom and Italy carried out in 2015 within the XXXX project.
