This paper tries to find answers to the question why the immense increase, development and access to technology in the last two decades has not been able to assure the efficient transmission of memory and history of traumatic experiences.
In order to reach deeper understanding this paper starts analysing Adorno’s categorical imperative which demands not to repeat Auschwitz and tries to establish if there is a direct relationship between the disposal of huge amounts of information about historical events and its remembrance. The observance of Adorno’s requirement struggles with problems of the level of knowledge and understanding of history that are at the bottom of this question. The arise of communicational and informational technology represents a challenge for the present and future of historical knowledge and understanding
