Resumen de El significado del trabajo en tres mujeres de Guadalajara, México: género, clase y generación

El tema de esta investigación se relaciona, por un lado, con el ámbito de los estudios acerca del significado actual del trabajo, y por el otro, con el del estudio del vínculo de dicho significado con la construcción de las identidades. En la confluencia de ambos campos de trabajo, se hizo una investigación que buscó entender la relación entre el sentido del trabajo y la construcción de la identidad de género, a través del análisis de las narrativas de trayectorias vitales de tres mujeres de Guadalajara, México, de clase media y de tres generaciones sucesivas de una misma familia. Se presentan en este trabajo algunos resultados de dicho análisis.

On one hand, the topic of this research relates to the scope of the studies on the actual meaning of work. On the other hand, it relates to the study of the link between such meaning and the construction of identities. A study was conducted at the crossroads of both lines of research, with the aim of understanding the relationship between the meaning of work and the construction of gender identity through the examination of the narratives of the life paths of three middle-class women from Guadalajara, Mexico, of three successive generations of a single family. This research work presents some of the results obtained from such examination.
