Resumen de De ópera, mole y pozole... pero en ese orden: omnivorismo y distinción

  Con este trabajo se presentan algunos delos hallazgos obtenidos tras una investigación realizada en la ciudad de Tijuana, entre los años 2016 y 2018. El objetivo de dicha investigación fue analizar el proceso de construcción del gusto musical de los consumidores de ópera -un género musical de reciente presencia en la ciudad de Tijuana-, para con esto identificar y entender los condicionamientos sociales y culturales implicados en dicho proceso, así como la manera en que opera dicho gusto musical. Al haber seguido una perspectiva disposicionalista, se hizo una reconstrucción sociohistórica de las trayectorias vitales de los individuos entrevistados. En términos académicos, los hallazgos de esta investigación permiten poner en discusión teorías como la del omnivorismo, desarrollada por Peterson y Simkus, así como algunas de las críticas al concepto bourdianos de habitus. En términos sociales, estos hallazgos permiten develar principios distintivos vigentes en sociedades actuales, como lo es la tijuanense, así como las estrategias que estos principios motivan, principalmente de forma implícita, para ocultar su persistencia a través del tiempo

  In the present work, some of the findings of an investigation carried out in the city of Tijuana between 2016 and 2018 are reported. The objective of this investigation was to analyze the process of construction of the musical taste of opera consumers -a musical genre of recent presence in the city of Tijuana-, in order to identify and understand the social and cultural conditions involved in this process, moreover, the way in which said musical taste operates. Having followed a dispositionalist perspective, a socio-historical reconstruction was made of the life trajectories of the individuals interviewed. In academic terms, the findings of this research allow us to discuss theories such as that of omnivorousness, developed by Peterson and Simkus, in addition to some of the criticisms of the Bourdian concept of habitus. In social terms, these findings make it possible to reveal distinctive principlesin force in current societies, such as the Tijuana one, as well as the strategies that these principles motivate, mainly implicitly, to hide their persistence over time.
