Tipos de capital: claves para comprender el subcampo de las ingenierías en Chiapas

    El presente artículo se deriva de una investigación más amplia que se desarrolla en el Doctorado en Estudios Regionales de la Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas (UNACH) y que tiene como objetivo: analizarlas posiciones que ocupan en el campo científico, los académicos e investigadores de Chiapas, pertenecientes al Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI)del área de conocimiento VIII-Ingeniería y desarrollo tecnológico. La metodología que se siguió fue de corte hermenéutico, a partir del análisis de las currícula de los académicos e investigadores SNI, lo que permitió obtener como resultado una gráfica que ilustra las posiciones de éstos como agentes en el subcampo de las ingenierías. Como limitaciones del estudio se puede señalar que al tomar en cuenta las currícula, probablemente se dejaron afuera aspectos de carácter social que no contempla dicho documento y que pudieran ofrecer más información. No obstante, tomando como guía el objetivo de la investigación, se demuestra que es un estudio nunca antes realizado en el sureste de México, y específicamente en el estado de Chiapas, mostrando hallazgos significativos sobre cómo se encuentran ubicados los agentes del campo científico de las ingenierías, un área poco desarrollada en la entidad. Por último, se consideró como teórico principal a Pierre Bourdieu por la sociología reflexiva y la caja de herramientas teóricas que ofrece para la comprensión del campo científico de las ingenierías como un espacio altamente diferenciado a partir de los capitales que poseen los agentes.

    This article is derived from a broader investigation that is developed in the Doctoral in Regional Studies of the Autonomous University of Chiapas (UNACH) and that aims to: analyze the positions that academics and researchers occupy in the scientific fieldNational System of Researchers (SNI) of the knowledge area VIII-Engineering and technological development in Chiapas. The methodology that was followed was hermeneutical, based on the analysis of the curriculaof SNI academics and researchers, which resulted in a graph that illustrates their positions as agents in the engineering subfield. As limitations of the study, it can be pointed out that when taking into account the curricula, aspects of a social nature that this document does not contemplate and that could offer more information were probably left out. However, taking the objective of the research as a guide, it is shown that it is a study never before carried out in the southeast of Mexico, and specifically in the state of Chiapas, showing significant findings on how the agents of the scientific field of the engineering, an underdeveloped area in the state. Finally, Pierre Bourdieu was considered as the main theorist for reflective sociology and the theoretical toolbox that it offers for understanding the scientific field of engineering as a highly differentiated space based on the capitals that agents possess.
