he chinaware royal industry of Sargadelos included, since its creation at the end of the XVIII century by Antonio Raimundo Ibáñez, an orchard and a pleasure garden. This detailed architecture provided to the factory a horticultural production, which was kept within the factory and stemmed from the Enlightenment interest of improving and developing the plantations. The garden, which was painted, depicted, and visited over the years, became an independent and prestigious architectural work that outlasted and ousted the iconic industrial landscape of kilns and chimneys. The interesting question that the community should resolve is how a masterpiece of the garden could become unnoticed and transformed –in cartographical terms– into a football field.
complexo fabril de Sargadelos creado a finais do século XVIII a expensas do empresario Antonio Raimundo Ibáñez incorporou dende os seus inicios un singular espazo dedicado á horta e xardín. A formulación desta arquitectura mimada estilisticamente achegou á fábrica unha produción hortícola gardada celosamente do exterior, que obedecía ó interese ilustrado polo desenvolvemento e mellora dos plantíos. Debuxada, visitada, gravada, fotografada, etc., a horta Ibáñez logrou un predicamento como arquitectura autónoma que desbancou e sobreviviu á icónica paisaxe industrial de fornos e chemineas da que dependía. Como unha obra mestra do xardín puido despois pasar desapercibida, ou convertida cartograficamente en campo de fútbol, é unha interesante cuestión que compete desenvolver a toda a sociedade.
