    A mediados del siglo XIX el puerto de Goya fue un importante espacio de intercambio comercial. Esto generó la formación de una relevante élite local. En este trabajo se indaga respecto de la propiedad de los esclavos como símbolo de riqueza y estatus que aparecen tanto en los testamentos como así también en otros documentos notariales y jurídicos como el registro, la dote matrimonial y los de compraventas. El periodo abordado va entre los años 1800-1834 haciéndose especial hincapié en las hijuelas de los herederos sobrevivientes de Don Francisco de Soto

    In the middle of the 19th century, the port of Goya was an important commercial exchange space. This generated the formation of a relevant local elite. This work investigates the property of slaves as a symbol of wealth and status that appear both in wills as well as in other notarial and legal documents such as the registry, the marriage dowry and those of sales. The period covered goes from the years 1800-1834 with special emphasis on the daughters of the surviving heirs of Don Francisco de Soto.
