The financing of the Catholic Church through the tax system has been a traditionally political issue, since it intermingles the legal with other aspects that fall on one of the most intimate areas of people, such as religiosity or beliefs, causing many doubts about its adaptation to the Constitution. The special sensitivity generated by this matter requires a determination, certain and far from subjective conceptions, of results are the concrete benefits that the Catholic Church enjoys, both direct and indirect, as well as its foundation, amount and destination, and also which of them are exclusively enjoyed by this religious confession.
