    Este texto es un recorrido por el Comala cultural, natural y turístico, patrimonial, identitario y estético, entre narraciones de sus habitantes y miradas de los visitantes. El antaño pueblo blanco de América hoy centro botanero popular y nombrado mágico, oficialmente. Un Comala famoso por haber entrado en la literatura por la puerta grande con el relato de Juan Rulfo, también por sus paisajes urbanos del centro histórico y sobre todo volcánicos en el horizonte de la mirada, el amor de sus originarios, el aroma a café y pan, las leyendas de ayer y hoy, la humedad tropical y el empedrado de sus calles, de casas bajo tejas, y un sol radiante o una intensa lluvia según el clima y la estación del año. Un Comala que siempre fue mágico enclavado en la ladera, atravesado por ríos, entretejido por la vegetación exuberante, el calor imperecedero e implacable, cercano a la capital del estado, y hoy receptor de turistas de lejanas tierras buscando lo diferente y exótico, lo entrañable y auténtico, o por grupos de ruidosos jóvenes urbanos cercanos que llegan a divertirse, botanear y beber
