    Hecho relativamente poco conocido en la trayectoria vital y de creación de Julio Cortázar, el periodo comprendido entre 1970 y 1980 está marcado por una fuerte implicación con “los chilenos”: primero en tanto apoyo a la vía chilena hacia el socialismo, después en la resistencia cultural contra Pinochet. Queremos, así, destacar en este trabajo su compromiso con la vía chilena al socialismo con el objeto de plantear algunos cuestionamientos en torno a la noción misma de compromiso y abordar la evolución ideológica y posiciones teóricas del autor argentino en torno al lugar que la cultura debía ocupar en la emancipación de los pueblos latinoamericanos. Para ello nos centraremos tanto en estudiar las convergencias teóricas entre posturas intelectuales en el seno de los debates de la época en torno al rol del intelectual en la revolución, como en dar una muestra de las acciones concretas en las que se tradujo su implicación. Todo ello nos permitirá finalmente explicar la visión cortazariana de la creación como “arma para corregir el futuro”.

     A relatively unknown fact in Julio Cortázar’s life and creation trajectory, the period between 1970 and 1980 is marked by a strong involvement with “the Chileans”: first in support of the Chilean path towards socialism, then in the cultural resistance against Pinochet. Thus, we want to highlight in this work his commitment to the Chilean way to socialism in order to raise some questions about the notion of commitment itself. We will also explore the ideological evolution and theoretical positions of the Argentinian author about the place that culture should occupy in the emancipation of Latin American people. For this, we will focus both on studying the theoretical convergences between intellectual postures within the debate of the period, about the role of the intellectual in the revolution, and on giving a sample of the concrete actions in which his involvement was translated. All this will finally allow us to explain the cortazarian vision of creation as a “weapon to correct the future”
