Victoria Ocampo conoce a Sergei Eisenstein en Nueva York, en 1930. Él se encuentra de paso hacia Hollywood donde planea realizar una película y ella está allí para encontrarse con Waldo Frank y discutir sobre el proyecto de la revista Sur. En ese momento, Ocampo le ofrece venir a la Argentina para realizar un film sobre la pampa. Y aunque esa pelicula nunca se realiza, quizás sea posible advertir algunas huellas de lo que podría haber sido en el proyecto que encara Eisenstein cuando se frustra su viaje a la Argentina: ¡Que viva México!

Victoria Ocampo meets Sergei Eisenstein in New York, in 1930.
