Resumen de El hato «contra pragmática» de la compañía de Agustín Manuel de Castilla en 1692

La finalidad de este trabajo es poner de manifiesto el conjunto de vestidos y aderezos de representación que poseían los miembros de la compañía del autor de comedias Agustín Manuel de Castilla, uno de los dos encargados de las representaciones del Corpus madrileño de 1692, contra la severa pragmática sobre el lujo publicada por Carlos II, el 26 de noviembre de 1691. Su volumen, riqueza, variedad, colorido, boato y múltiple funcionalidad justificaban, a mi juicio, su estudio, a partir de un expediente radicado en el Archivo Histórico Nacional (Consejos, 1277), promovido por su sellado. El citado expediente ofrecía una especie de fotografía fiel del vestuario de boato de dos importantes compañías del último decenio del siglo XVII (Agustín Manuel y Damián Polop), si bien límites de espacio aconsejaban centramos solo en la primera, refiriéndonos al hato «contra pragmática» de la segunda de forma tangencial.

The aim of this paper is to bring to light the collection of costumes and jewellery used for performances that belonged to the members of the company by the comedy author Agustín Manuel de Castilla, one of the two people in charge of the performances of the Corpus Christi of Madrid in 1692, against the severe pragmatic sanction regarding luxury issued by Charles II on November 26th, 1691. Its volume, richness, variety, colour, ostentation and multiple functionalities justified, in my opinion, its study, based on a record located in the National Historical Archive (Councils, 1277), promoted by its stamp. Said record offered sort of an accurate pictureof the ostentatiouscostumes of two important companies of the last decade of the XVII century (Agustín Manuel and Damián Polop), nonethelessspace restrictions advised us to focus just on the first one, referring to the bundle«against pragmatic sanction» of the second one in a superficial manner.
