  • Resumen
    • This article focuses on the «European Commission reports on the risks of investor citizenship and residence schemes in the EU» and on some of the hypocrisies emerging from this report. The a. affirms that citizenship by investment is merely the confirmation that what Eugen Isin has shown – that citizenship is an “exclusive goodµ, “a scarce resourceµ – is true. The a. states that the high price of the EU citizenship (of the citizenships that some of the member States of EU sell) subsist because citizenship has an exclusionary nature: that price makes visible the invisible – the unfairness in allocating citizenship. Not by chance, Luigi Ferrajoli argued that citizenship is the “last privilege of statusµ remained in the post-modern era. EU citizenship does not avoid this definition.
