Pobreza y voluntariado: viejos y nuevos retos

    En este artículo reflexionamos sobre la función del voluntariado social en la actualidad. Concretamente, el voluntariado dedicado a la nueva pobreza fruto de las recientes crisis socio/económicas. Muchas personas encuentran respuesta en ONGs y entidades sociales que prestan servicios de primera atención, coordinadamente con los servicios sociales básicos. Hablamos de la transición del voluntariado más reivindicativo y comunitario del inicio de la democracia post-franquista hasta la actualidad. Sostenemos la idea de que, el actual paradigma neo-liberal nos está devolviendo a formas de actuación anteriores a la democracia y destacamos como, las formas de ayuda se reducen cada vez más a aportaciones de capital material (dinero y especie) y tutorizaciones para “funcionalizar” a aquellos que van quedando fuera del sistema. Analizamos el papel del voluntariado del Tercer Sector de Acción Social (TSAS) y el intento por redefinir su lugar y función a través de la relación, como forma de superación del asistencialismo. Para su desarrollo, además de contextualizar históricamente el tema, nos hemos basado en diversas fuentes documentales, que abordan el tema relacional, mixturado con la experiencia laboral y reflexiones contrastadas, de quien escribe el artículo, después de más de veinte años en la atención social en el ámbito del TSAS.

    The volunteering’s role in front the new poverty in this article we reflect on the role of social volunteering today. Specifically, a kind of volunteering dedicated to the new poverty as a result of the recent socio-economic crisis. Many people are finding answers in NGOs and social entities that provide first-care services, in coordination with basic social services. We are talking from the transition of the most vindictive and community volunteering of first post-Franco democracy to the present. We hold the thesis that, the current neo-liberal paradigm is returning us to forms of action prior to democracy and we highlight how, the forms of aid are increasingly reduced to contributions of material capital (money and species) and tutoring for “functionalize”those who are left out of the system. We analyse the role of volunteering in the Third Sector of Social Action (TSAS) at present and the attempt to redefine the place and function of the Entities through the relationship, as an attempt to overcome charity ways. For its development in addition to historically contextualizing subject we used texts about relational issues and mixed with their work experience and contrasted reflections, of who writes the article, of more than twenty years in social care in the field of TSSA.
