In the Upper Guadalquivir (Jaen province) there are many seismic lines with enough quality to allow the interpretation of a Late Miocene tectonic deformation settled in: 1) A marked structural change between two large adjacent sectors, possibly separated by the Tíscar transfer fault. In the Eastern block of the fault (Las Villas and Cazorla ranges) dozens of thin skinned thrust sheets appear, with different detachment levels. The Tortonian Guadalquivir Olistostrome is never involved in the structures of this eastern sector. To the W of the Tíscar Fault (countryside of the Guadalquivir River and Jaen ranges) in the central sector, a maximum of eight thrusts always detached from a common Triassic basal level. 2) Although both thrust systems are the result of a tectonic inversion promoted by previous extensional faults affecting the Northern Prebetic Inner Platform, the presence or absence of the Olistostrome, suggest different ages for the thrust emplacement in both sectors: the first one before the Olistostrome sliding process (oriental sector) and the second one after that (Late Tortonian) for the central sector
