Resumen de Sondeos 4 y 5. Excavación arqueológica en el castillo de Valtierra: Campañas 2019-2020

  Estas campañas de excavación han servido para ir conociendo mejor la distribución de restos medievales que se conservan en el terreno conocido como Castillo de Valtierra. Hasta la fecha hemos localizado estructuras bajomedievales que se localizan en el perímetro y que es necesario sondear en próximas campañas para poder conocer la planta de la parte principal fortificada. Por otro lado, se constata el potencial arqueológico que presentan las estructuras urbanas del poblamiento islámico, situadas la planicie del terreno, y que se fechan entre los siglos IX al XII, con una conservación excepcional y muy difícil de encontrar en el valle del Ebro y la península.

  These excavation campaigns have served to gain a better understanding of the distribution of medieval remains that are preserved in the land known as Castillo de Valtierra. To date we have located late medieval structures that are located on the perimeter and that it is necessary to survey in future campaigns to be able to know the plan of the main fortified part. On the other hand, the archaeological potential presented by the urban structures of the Islamic settlement, located on the plain of the land, and which date between the 9th and 12th centuries, with exceptional conservation and very difficult to find in the Ebro Valley and the peninsula.

  Indusketa kanpaina hauek balio izan dute Valtierrako gaztelua izeneko lurraldean kontserbatzen diren Erdi Aroko aztarnen banaketa hobeto ezagutzeko. Orain arte, perimetroan kokatzen diren Erdi Aro berantiarreko egiturak aurkitu ditugu, eta horiek etorkizuneko kanpainetan aztertu beharra dago gotorleku nagusiaren planoa nolakoa zen jakiteko.
