  Los museos son textos sociales y culturales, atravesados por la contestación a otras ideas y el reflejo de las propias. En estos espacios se dicen cosas, se enuncian ideas, pero también se hacen cosas al decir: se ordena, jerarquiza y valora la realidad y se transmite una forma de ver el mundo. Este trabajo pretende averiguar qué dice y hace el Museo de América de Madrid, a quién desafía y cómo construye su posición respecto al pasado y al presente de todo un continente y de las relaciones de éste con la antigua metrópoli

  Museums are social and cultural texts crossed by their reply to other ideas and the reflections of their own. In these spaces things are said, ideas enounced and things made, in other words –the reality is ordained, valued and given a hierarchical structure, which transmits a way of seeing the world. This work attempts to find out what the Museum of America in Madrid does, to whom challenge and how it builds up its position in relation to the past and present of a continent and its relations with the old metropoli
