Resumen de El desarrollo de la antropología sociocultural en El Salvador

Se presenta el desarrollo de la antropología sociocultural en El Salvador estableciendo la diferencia entre pensamiento antropológico y antropología científica. El regis-tro más antiguo data de principios de la época colonial. Empero, se establece que la antropología científica surge a mediados del siglo XX. Los paradigmas para el desarrollo de la antropología sociocultural salvadoreña son la antropología marxista, el folclorismo o el estudio de la cultura popular tradicional, y las nuevas tendencias de finales del siglo XX e inicios del XXI. Se concluye con las actuales orientaciones de la antropología sociocultural salvadoreña: el paradigma descriptivista y la antropología interpretativa

This article explains the development of socio-cultural anthropology in El Salvador establishing the difference between anthropological thought and scientific anthropology. The oldest register goes back to the Colonial period. But the article establishes that scientific anthropology arises at the middle of the 20th Cen-tury. Paradigms for the development of Salvadorian socio-cultural anthropology are Marxist anthropology, folklorism or the study of traditional popular culture and the new trends of the end of 20th century and the begin-nings of 21st century. It concludes with current trends in the socio-cultural anthropology in El Salvador: the descriptive paradigm and interpretative anthropology
