    Los textiles indígenas de México son parte de los procesos culturales e históricos de un territorio diverso en identidades étnicas y rico en expresiones artísticas, por mediación del cuerpo las ropas son los vehículos idóneos donde se encarnan los símbolos como códigos comunicativos del poder, la estratificación social, la moda, la apreciación estética y la configuración económica; las telas han sido motivo de invenciones tecnológicas y de reflexiones estéticas, el uso de las matemáticas adquiere sentido con la mecanización de las técnicas de manufactura y las decoraciones constituyen el acervo iconográfico que nos remite al pensamiento cosmogónico. En este trabajo se estudian los tejidos y bordados nahuas y otomíes del municipio de Pahuatlán en el Estado de Puebla, ambos pueblos indígenas tienen tradiciones textiles compartidas, pero también poseen elementos que los definen y los identifican.

    The aborigin textiles from Mexico form part of the cultural and historical processes of a diverse territory speaking about ethnic identities and rich in artistic expressions, through the body clothes are the suitable vehicles where the symbols are personified as communicative codes of the power, the social stratifycation, the fashion, the aesthetics appreciation and the economical configuration; fabrics have been the reason of technological inventions and aesthetics reflections, the use of the mathematics acquire a sens with the mechanization of the technique to manufacture and the decorations establish the iconographical heritage that remit us to the cosmogonic thought. This work is studyng the weaves and embroideries of Nahua and otomies of the municipality of Pahuatán in the Estado de Puebla, both aboriginal towns have textile traditions shared, but they also have elements that define and identify them.
