  En la Comunitat Valenciana el Decreto 5/2020, de 10 de enero, por el que se aprueba el Estatuto que regula los municipios turísticos, ha dado cobertura a una petición largamente demandada por los Entes Locales, de recoger en un texto normativo las obligaciones y derechos de estos municipios, así como el procedimiento para solicitar la concesión de esta condición. Sin embargo, este Estatuto puede no haber satisfecho las expectativas de estos municipios, por tratarse, en algunos casos de una proyección de lo ya establecido en la legislación turística, y en otros por ir más allá, endureciendo los criterios en cuanto a su concesión, pero también a su revocación.

  The Decree 5/2020, of January 10th, which approves the Statute that regulates the so called tourist municipalities in the Region of Valencia, covers a widely demanded request by Local Authorities. They stated the necessity to include every right and obligation of these “tourist municipalities”, as well as the procedure to request the granting of this title in a unique code. However, this Statute may not have met the expectations of these municipalities, since it is, on the one hand, just a forecast of what has already been established by Tourism Law, and on the other hand, it goes further, tightening the criteria regarding the granting of this title, but establishing also the revocation of this granting.
