Historic and military paper comparing two views on chivalry and cavalry, apparently far from each other, but truly coincidental and similar. For that purpose, the times of feudalism shall be taken as the frame for the comparison in both medieval Europe (11th to 15th centuries) and Japan (Kamakura, Muromachi and Azuchi-Momoyama Eras, from 12th to 16th centuries), taking into consideration the most relevant features of horse-riding in the two cultures. Not only will it be an strictly military study, but the chivalric values and aristocratic lifestyle associated to the rise of knights and samurais will be analyzed in detail as well
