Tendencia de la investigación de las mujeres en el siglo XXI en México. Un acercamiento

    Objetivo: Explorar qué investigan las mujeres en México, del máximo nivel (III) del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI), a través de la revisión y registros oficiales del Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACyT) y entrevistas directas, para conocer las disciplinas que cultivan y sus motivaciones.

    Metodología: Ubicar, desde una perspectiva de género e interdisciplinariedad, el acceso de las mujeres a la educación y a la investigación científica, así como su desempeño y aportaciones al conocimiento. Se presenta un esbozo del panorama de la presencia de las mujeres en la educación y la ciencia tanto en Estados Unidos como Europa y México, desde la década de los setenta en el siglo XX hasta la actualidad (2015).

    Resultados: Se ubicó el número total de investigadores vigentes en 2015: 23 mil 316 de los cuales 15 mil 070 (64.64%) son hombres y 8 mil 246 (35.36%) mujeres.

    Dentro del SIN mil 837 sin candidatas; 4 mil 486 nivel I, mil 173 nivel 2 y 418 nivel III. En cuanto a las motivaciones de 89 nivel III, se ubicaron las siguientes categorías: compromiso social, curiosidad, interés, vocación, empoderamiento y sugerencias de profesores, conocimiento. Se encontró que en las áreas de Educación y Humanidades las investigadoras siguen teniendo una presencia relevante. Empero, se detectó un avance sustancial en otras áreas otrora vedadas o con presencia casi nula:

    87 investigadoras de un total de 418 (casi 21%) se ubican los campos que comprenden Ciencias de la Salud, Ciencias de la Tierra y del Cosmos, Ciencias de la Vida, y Química. Otras áreas en las que ya tienen presencia son Biofísica, Biología animal y Zoología, Biología celular, Biología molecular, Botánica, Etología, Fisiología Humana, Bioquímica, Genética, Inmunología y Microbiología.

    Objective: To explore why women investigated in Mexico, the highest level (III) of the National System of Researchers (SNI), through the review and records of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT) and direct interviews to understand the disciplines that cultivate and motivations.

    Methodology: Locate, from a gender perspective and interdisciplinary, access of women to education and scientific research, as well as their performance and contributions to knowledge. An outline of the panorama of the presence of women in the Education and science both in the US and Europe and is present Mexico since the seventies in the twentieth century to the present (2015).

    Results: The total number of researchers in force was located in 2015: 23 000 316 of which 15 000 070 (64.64%) were men and 8000 246 (35.36%) women.
